I have been asked to bring this cheeseball to almost every event that I can think of: baby showers, Christmas parties, Thanksgiving dinner, youth events, Super Bowl parties. You name it. At church I've kinda become known for it. So I decided to share it with y'all! (It's dangerously easy...)
Megan's {Famous} Savory Cheeseball
2 packages of cream cheese
2 cups Colby-jack shredded cheese
1/2 medium onion finely chopped
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/2 cup chopped nuts (I've used almonds, pecans, and peanuts before... but pecans are my fav.)
It's really quite simple. Set aside the nuts in a small bowl. Place the rest of the ingredients in a medium sized bowl and mix well. (I use my kitchen aid mixer with the dough paddle.) Scoop out the cheesy goodness with your hands (trust me here), and form into a ball. Next just firmly roll the ball in the chopped nuts, and press them in with your hands. Set it on a flat surface to create a slightly flat side (You don't want it to roll away!), and put in the fridge for at least a couple hours. Serve and enjoy!
I've found that this is really good with pretzels or crackers.

Why "i me megan?" Well, when I was a very little girl (like two years old) my mum says that whenever I walked into a room of people I would yell "I me Megan, I here!" as if to let everyone know the party had arrived. So y'all...

Need to make this for our church's Superbowl get together this weekend! Maybe it will make an appearance at our regional meetup too? Hope you're doing well. :)
ReplyDeleteYumm!! This looks amazing! I'm a pretty big sucker for anything with cheese in it. And peanuts are a close second!
